Crown Equipment Corporation - a well-known manufacturer of loaders from Ohio, USA, has been developing, manufacturing and servicing loading and unloading equipment since 1956.

The history of the company began in 1945, when two brothers Carl Dyke and Alain Dyke from the small town of New Bremen, Ohio, USA, decided to establish their own company.

In the same year, the son of Carl Dyke, James Dyke joins the company and later becomes its chairman.

At the moment, the chairman and CEO of the company is his son James Dyke II, his son James Dyke III is the president of the company, so we can assume that Crown, despite the huge size of the company, remains a family business.

Initially, Crown produced temperature controllers for coal burning furnaces, later focusing on the production of antenna rotators, the production of which continued until 2001.

In 1951, the company changed the scope to manufacture and repair mechanical products for industry and government.

The company began production of forklift trucks in 1957, with the belief that the industry needed a line of high-quality forklifts to operate in a street-warehouse environment, the company quickly produced the first line of machinery and became the fastest growing company producing warehouse equipment.

In 1966, the company opened a branch in Australia, advancing into the Pacific market for loading equipment. Crown has been appearing on the European market since the late sixties when it buys a plant in Ireland.

In 1970, the company already had a network of independent dealerships selling Crown equipment throughout Europe.

Today, Crown has a dealership network that spans almost the entire world. The company’s production is concentrated in six locations in the USA: New Bremen, Ohio (where the company’s head office is located), Greencastle (Indiana), Celine (Ohio), Fort Laurami (Ohio) and New Knoxville also in Ohio.

International bases include Sydney, Australia since 1966, Queretaro, Mexico since 1973, Roding, Germany since 1986, and Suzhou, China since 2006.

Crown owns sales offices and services in Australia, England, Belgium, China, Korea, Malaysia, Germany, Holland, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain and more than 30 cities in the USA.

Crown has received many awards for design, communications and production technology from renowned magazines and organizations.

The Crown brand manufactures hand pallet trucks, electric trolleys, stackers, order pickers, tractors, forklifts and reach trucks.

Crown is also a well-known manufacturer of logistics software packages and manufactures wireless loader fleet management systems.

All Crown machinery has long established itself as a good solution for storage and logistics companies, Crown is the seventh largest manufacturer of forklifts in the world.
