History of Sears Roebuck Tractors

Some SEARS ROEBUCK Tractor Manuals PDF are above the page.

Sears (Sears, Roebuck and CompanySears Holdings) is an American company that operates several international retail chains.

Founded by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck in the late 19th century. The innovation of the company was that it delivered goods by mail, ordered by the final buyers through postal catalogs. At that time, the company specialized in the trade in civilian small arms, especially Colt's revolvers.

Starting from this activity, by the middle of the 20th century, the company had become the largest US retailer, and catalogs became world famous. The company is mentioned in many famous literary works.

However, after the WW2, the company's clientele significantly narrowed as a result of competition, as well as changes in demographics - its large stores were located in rural areas and in the central part of cities, while the population mostly moved to the suburbs. Over time, their catalogs were greatly reduced.

Sears entered the lawn tractor market in 1959 with David Bradley tractors. The name of David Bradley was dropped in 1964, and the name of the master was used in the 70s. Currently, all artists are Craftsman or Craftsman Professional.

At the beginning of 2005, a holding company (Sears Holdings) was formed as a result of a merger with the Kmart trading network, and the Sears Kmart trading network was retained under the same names.
